There are pieces that I have written that seem to write themselves. There are pieces that even several years later, I remember where I was and how I felt when I wrote them. There are pieces that the narration and music for the audio recording hit the emotional mark of the piece perfectly.
Endlessness is one of those pieces. It was originally published in my first book, Shattered, and again in my third book, Hushing the Voices. It’s by far one of my favorite pieces of poetic prose I’ve written.

Endlessness
I felt life writhing in a warm, dark place. I drifted, lost in my thoughts, drowning in my feelings. Time crept up behind me and took me by surprise. The somber and sobering experience of mortality whispered.
The silence echoed a faint, memorable sound, both haunting and heartbreaking, like a child that softly whimpers and cannot be consoled.
The days drag on empty and cold when you’re not here. Time becomes a jagged-edged blade, tearing my flesh, leaving an ugly scar that is long remembered.
